About Me

My photo
From a very early age I have been interested in comics, pretending to be Spiderman or some other superhero. Growing up with Mark Millar (Wanted/Kick Ass) I started off drawing Mark's first project but being young, impatient and silly walked away to chase a career in the police, which later became a reality. I served both as a Military Police Officer and Civilian Officer. Leaving the Police Service in 2010 to work in the Middle East as a dog handler in the private security industry and I am now currently in Iraq. I got back into the comic scene in 2008 when I started with a small 6 page project called "Camouflage" written by Martin Conaghan (Fallen Heroes), later lettering Martins Graphic Novel Burke and Hare. I am still working on lots of projects for various artists/writers, Barry Nugent, RH Stewart, Martin Hayes, Monty Borror, and Kaan Emirler to note but a few. I am the letterer I am the creak on the stairs, the growl in the darkness, the click of the empty chamber. I make the lovers sigh, the monsters roar and the mutely wounded scream their pain and rage.

Trenches is a complete universe created by Kaan and has some fantastic characters. This Graphic Novel is finally ready and we are in the process of trying to get it published.....I will no doubt post when its out for sale and would urge people to get out and buy it.....it really is great...here are some teasers :

INTRODUCTION

Hi, welcome to my blog. As you can see from my title and profile I letter graphic novels and comics. This is a love I have and sadly not a full time one as my main career is dog handling. However when I am relaxing I love nothing more than getting my head in to a good story, I love reading books but when you get a hold of a great comic you can see the story come to life, with artwork it seems to come to life more easily.

As a young lad I was quite good at art but fell away from it but always had a great love for being creative. I wanted to get in to the comic world and made my break when I was asked by a good friend (Martin Conaghan) to letter a small 6 page comic. This then moved on to the Graphic Novel Burke and Hare (Conaghan/Pickering). At this time I was also working on a 150 plus Graphic Novel "Trenches" by Kaan Emirler. which I am now pleased to say is complete so please watch this space for updates.

I quickly found that I loved this line of work and thrived on getting my teeth into more projects and then it all started to move so much more quicker with the comic adaptation of Barry Nugents fantastic novel "Fallen Heroes"
After lettering the first issue I was asked to do four more spin off stories from various writers all based on the characters from the book, aswell as lettering the following issues of Fallen Heroes. You can catch Fallen Heroes issue 2 soon along with an anthology of stories featuring the books various colourful characters by getting yourself to the Thought Bubble comic convention in November. You can also keep up to date with the creative team of The Unseen Shadows and whats new in their world.

If you are involved in the comic world or are just interested in anything I have or am working on, feel free to get in touch.
